We all have those days where we see ourselves as being less or accomplishing less than other people. Thanks to the great web and social media we constantly see all of the accomplishments of other people. Obviously, as humans we like to show our best self on social media and when we know millions of other people can possibly be watching. That’s normal but in the midst of all this, we sometimes see ourselves as not being on par with everyone else. This is when we need to take a step back and realize that instead of comparing, it’s time to work on ourselves. If you don’t like where you are, if there is a goal you want to accomplish, than do it! Because you most definitely can. Here are some ways that help me reevaluate myself and keep myself on track to accomplish the goals that I set for myself.
- GET OFF OF SOCIAL MEDIA: I think by now we all know why this is at the top of the list. Stop focusing on what other people are doing and focus on what you want to do. There is no cookie-cutter way of accomplishing goals, nor is there only a single definition of being “accomplished”.
- WRITE IT DOWN: Seriously, for those of you who are not into writing things down or journaling, it helps! Seeing your goals on paper and even reading them out loud makes them seem more realistic even if they are huge goals or a little bit far into your future.
- LISTEN TO MUSIC AND DANCE: Or you could read a book, watch a movie, finish that crafting project you’ve been meaning to work on. The point is to do something you truly enjoy doing as to get all the negative energy out and turning it into positive energy that can then help you to focus on your goals.
- MEDITATE: Focusing on being aware of everything around you without passing judgement helps with realigning your energies. Post-meditation there is usually a sense of calm and center that can help with re-focusing on your goals and setting out to accomplish them.
