3 Things To Be Grateful For

I was driving home the other day and my mind started feeling claustrophobic. I realize that sounds strange but I was physically fine, it was just my head that was filling with all of these thoughts and emotions that really had no where to go. I realized that it was me, and my life in general, that was starting to feel caged in. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for having routines (morning routine, skincare routine, etc.) but sometimes we all just need a little spontaneity. I was seconds away from driving out of the city just to feel free. And then, you know, my responsibilities killed that idea mad fast. I came to acknowledge two things. Firstly, feeling free can be as simple as choosing a new route to get to work or treating myself to some ice cream even if it’s 25 degrees outside because that’s what I feel like doing. Secondly most of the responsibilities keeping me from doing something crazy, like randomly leaving the city, are things I’m actually grateful for. So, in honor of Thanksgiving here are 3 things I am grateful for.

  1. Fur babies. Obviously they are the first to make the list. Having pets (especially royally spoiled ones) is a difficult thing but oh so totally worth it when you get snuggles from them.
  2. Family/Friends. Enough said.
  3. Graduate School. Being accepted and having the financial and mental support needed to attend is, I’m beginning to realize, a big deal. Again, a lot of work but I’m so grateful for it.
